The School of STEM Education, Innovation and Global Studies in collaboration with the Centre for the Advancement of STEM Teaching and Learning (CASTeL) hosted Ms Silvia Alcaraz-Dominguez, assitant lecturer and PhD candidate at Universitat de Barcelona – Faculty of Education. Ms Alcaraz-Dominguez spent six weeks in Ireland and spent time engaging with staff on her research insterest – science teacher professional development on Socio-Scientific issues based instruction. She also presented a talk on her research area and discussed her work on the European project Engaging Science (www.engagingscience.eu). We look forward to future collaborations with Ms Alcaraz-Dominguez and the Universitat de Barcelona.
