MEI 10 marked a significant milestone for the mathematics education research community in Ireland and, for the first time, was hosted as a CASTeL event, highlighting its growing importance. The conference brought together researchers, teacher educators, teachers, policymakers, and students from across the mathematics education continuum to explore the theme Mathematics for a Connected World: Integration, Challenges and Possibilities.
The event was the largest MEI conference to date. The programme featured keynote contributions from Dr Thérèse Dooley, Professor Geoff Wake and Dr Mairéad Hourigan, alongside paper presentations, symposia, workshops, and practitioner-focused sessions that reflected current research, innovation, and classroom practice in mathematics education. MEI 10 provided an important forum for dialogue across sectors, supporting collaboration, knowledge exchange, and the continued development of mathematics education research and practice nationally and internationally.
