CERME 10 conference opening

Over 800 attendees from around the world attended the opening of the CERME10 conference which has started today. The event is being held in Croke Park and will continue until Sunday 5th February. CERME 10 will promote the development of mathematics education through intellectual communication and cooperation in the context of thematic working groups, plenaries, poster sessions and congenial interactions.

Participants were welcomed by the Chair of the local organising committee and CASTeL member, Dr. Therese Dooley and Prof. Ann Looney, Executive Dean of the Institute of Education spoke about the contributions of Irish scholars to mathematics at the opening ceremony. This was followed by a display of Irish dancing and music from DCU students.
